Kranti - Pune
It was established in 2010 and is a non-governmental organisation headquartered in Pune, Maharashtra. The organisation is working to address caste-based atrocities, domestic violence, custodial violence, educational dropouts, lack of healthcare facilities, etc.
Operating primarily in the Pune and Ahmednagar districts, Kranti’s initiatives have significantly impacted the lives of NT-DNT and Adivasi women, children, and families. By providing legal aid, educational support, and access to social entitlements, Kranti strives to create a society where these communities can live with dignity and equal rights. The organisation’s holistic approach, which includes grassroots engagement, skill development, and collaboration with government stakeholders, ensures sustainable development and social justice for the most vulnerable.
Project with MHI :
Mariwala Health Initiative is partnering with Kranti, to work in 5 villages of Shirur block of Pune. The project aims to reduce mental stress and trauma among the NT-DNT and Adivasi tribes by addressing the challenges arising from discrimination, violence, and social stigmas faced by these marginalised communities. It will be achieved through community dialogues, mental health care workshops, counselling, legal aid, and healthcare services. The project intends to contribute to the better mental well-being of the marginalised communities.
